Marcon set to navigate fit out of Poole Museum’s Maritime Galleries
Poole Museum is embarking on a transformative journey of exploration and discovery with the appointment of Marcon Fit Out to deliver the interpretive fit-out within its diverse galleries. This ambitious project will see Marcon Fit Out infuse the museum’s exhibitions with dynamic storytelling, immersive experiences, and interactive displays, inviting visitors to embark on a voyage through time and tide.
Situated in the heart of Poole, the Maritime galleries will celebrate Poole’s rich maritime history and heritage. With its collection of artefacts, exhibits, and interactive displays, the museum offers visitors a glimpse into Poole’s maritime past.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen to collaborate with Poole Maritime Museum on this exciting project,” remarked Martin McErlean, Contract Manager at Marcon Fit Out. “We look forward to applying our expertise to the museum’s galleries.”
The interpretive fit-out will span across the museum’s various galleries, each dedicated to a different aspect of Poole’s maritime history and heritage. From the bustling quayside of Poole Harbour to the adventures of local fishermen and the stories of maritime trade and commerce, each gallery will offer visitors a unique perspective on the town’s maritime past.
The interpretive fit-out will blend traditional storytelling techniques with cutting-edge technology to create memorable and engaging experiences for visitors of all ages. Interactive displays, immersive audio-visual installations, and hands-on exhibits will invite visitors to explore, discover, and interact with the museum’s collections in new and innovative ways.
Cllr Andy Martin, Portfolio Holder for Customer, Communications, and Culture, BCP Council said: “We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to transform Poole Museum. We are conserving and breathing life into much loved local buildings restoring their historic character and providing welcoming and accessible cultural spaces that will enrich the Lower High Street and Poole Quay for residents and visitors alike.”
The museum is expected to open in Summer 2025.
